Top Tip: Breathe right

“I think we can all agree the stretch from January until March is tough. The holidays seem like a distant memory and there is no bank holiday in sight. This week’s top tip is a simple exercise to help you find some much needed calm amidst a crazy day. This breathing technique can be tailored to fit your timeframe and the best part is, you can do it anywhere.

  1. Be aware of any tension in your body and take a moment to release it
  2. Inhale slowly through your nose for four counts
  3. Hold your breath for six counts
  4. Exhale through your mouth for seven counts

After just a few breaths, you will start feeling more centered and relaxed as you focus on your breath and the counts. Give this a try for one minute today and slowly increase by a minute each time. You’ll find it easier to let go of your thoughts and enjoy being present!”
